Today I wanted to share with you an update on the past year! It's hard to believe that it's already been a year since I moved to Thetford.

Its the first time I have lived in a different town to where i grew up and it now feels much more like home.

My favourite thing about living in Thetford is the amount of lovely places to go for walks, without having to get in the car first! I have enjoyed exploring the area and discovering quite a few routes. Even if I am short of time I live just a 5 minute walk from the abbey gardens, and enjoy walking there with my rescue dog Star. I also love going for jogs along the river, and seeing the geese, swans and deer.

It's been a busy time, settling in, so I have only just opened my books to new clients in Thetford. I still travel several days a week to my old clientele but I would like to begin to establish a few days work local to home. I have begun to flyer in the area, which is really helpful to get to know the estates and for people to know who I am.

So let me share some more information about my hairdressing journey. It's been 12 years since i completed my apprenticeship. I wouldn't be where I am today, without the large number of regular clients, who have loyally supported me along the way. It is a privilege to be trusted with people's hair. We have shared not only many hair appointments, but big events in life and formed real connections. Everyone has different needs, so I have learnt how to be adaptable to try and accommodate this.

I am fully insured, which is useful for clients to know, as it means i adhere to the professional safety standards you would expect, to protect clients from any avoidable harm. This includes following skin testing protocol, to safe hygiene practises to avoid cross-contamination, between services.

The industry is constantly changing and evolving and it is impossible to reach a place where you have nothing left to learn! I want to continue to meet people's needs and challenge myself. I am about to embark on another year's training to gain my Level 3 qualification. It is something I have always wanted to do but last year I discovered a training school in Norfolk who offer the qualification. It will be incredibly beneficial to my business, to have this extended training. I will have the chance to learn further advanced skills and build upon knowledge I already have, in a immersive environment, with other hairdressers.

You may wonder what products do I use? I offer the full range of A.S.P colours. They are a high quality British brand who value using high quality products which are also vegan friendly, contain 90% naturally derived ingredients, from renewable and sustainable resources. They are also kind to your hair and contain shea butter and argon oil and ultra low ammonia. They are a fantastic brand to work with as they offer regular education on their products. I have committed time to attend multiple of their training sessions this year online, and I had the opportunity to attend a workshop in person too, which was incredibly useful.

I can't wait to see what the rest of the year will bring!
